The desire for being many: Oct-Dec 2025 and ongoing, Berlin
Curatorial Project: co-curated by Lillian Morrissey, Kira Del, Laura Seidel, Katharina Koch, Sylvia Sadinski, assistant curator Neda Naujokaitė.
Under the title The desire for being many, the Berlin based spaces Neun Kelche and alpha nova & galerie futura and the artist Lillian Morrissey, present a joint exhibition across multiple spaces and a programme of events for the period October-December 2025. Platforming intersectional, transnational FLINTA* artistic, activist and discursive critical approaches, the project will address the highly topical issue of reactionary, anti-feminist and LGBTQI-phobic backlash in contemporary right-wing politics. The project The desire for being many not only aims to take stock and highlight the dramatic reactionary-antifeminist developments of recent years, but also to create counter-publics and strengthen alliances of solidarity in the spirit of author, philosopher and activist Ewa Majewska. The result is a polyphonic, diverse network of positions that serves as a starting point for resistance against Backlash 2.0. Kick-off panel discussion held at the Gunda Werner Institute, (In Kooperation mit dem Gunda-Werner-Institut), funded by: Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt, in partnership with Missy Magazine.

Hostile Imaginary: 13.04.24- 03.05.24, Berlin
Curatorial Project: Group exhibition at Gr_nd, co-curated by Lillian Morrissey and Tiziana Krüger, with an essay by Julia Meyer-Brehm.
When is an object hostile - and when is it harmless? Where and how is the distinction made between defensive mechanism and weapon? Billie Clarken; Tiziana Krüger; Lillian Morrissey and Anica Seidel address these questions in their group exhibition "hostile imaginary". In it, they examine the complex visualisation of tensions, threats and hostilities in contemporary pop culture and society - no matter how subliminal they may be. Using various media, sculptural objects and materials, the artists explore cultural narratives and images that subtly influence our perception of violence. They contrast everyday objects and places, cartoonish forms, soft surfaces and fragile materials with sharp edges and ambiguous bodies that oscillate between attraction and hostility. All works are positioned in grey areas: thus, a protective space or seemingly harmless scenario can carry a hidden threat as brutal as a naked weapon, reflecting our paranoid anxieties and revealing a fragile sense of security.
